The Wayside Inn hosts many weddings throughout the year. Pammy and Patty, are two of the horses who give rides in charming carriages from the Inn to the Martha Mary Chapel down the road. They are very fond of this patch of grass in front of the barn. I painted the scene plein-air and added in the horses from photos I took of them. The horses look quite white in the summer but were sporting their long tan winter coats at the time. They are REALLY BIG Belgian Draft Horses.
